Annette McClure and Dallas Lee Whittaker open Springfield office for Terril & Co.

Annette McClure and Dallas Lee Whittaker have opened a Springfield office for Terril & Company, an independent wealth management firm based in St. Louis with strong Springfield connections.

McClure and Whittaker both previously worked in the wealth management and trust department at Marine Bank, which merged with Morton Community Bank as of June 9 and now operates as Clock Tower Community Bank in the Springfield area.

“As part of that process, Morton Community Bank has their own investment division, and they’re transitioning clients to their own platform,” said Whittaker. “We felt like clients were used to dealing with relationships, not the entity, so several of us decided to open a Springfield office for Terril & Company, which was the same company we had worked with at Marine Bank.”

Client relationship specialist Stacy Foli and Andrew Purdy also made the transition to the new office, which is located in the Park Place One building at 3201 W. White Oaks Dr. McClure serves as  executive vice president, while Whittaker is senior vice president.

Terril & Company was founded in 1979 by John “Joe” Terril. “He’s originally from Springfield and these are really long-standing relationships,” said Whittaker. “He manages over $700 million, and about one-third of his business is Springfield. Joe still wanted to provide local service to his Springfield clients, so that’s when we started making plans.”

“Joe and I have been working together for 30 years or more,” said McClure. “We started working together at the old Marine Bank and then went over to the new Marine 17 years ago.” McClure said she and Whittaker decided to open a Springfield office for Terril & Company “to keep relationships with our clients front and center. We pride ourselves our personal relationships, and we’re really excited about this opportunity.”
