It's almost time for the State Fair, any updates on those oral arguments scheduled for a few weeks after January of this year? Or are we just having a major entrance to town held hostage by an out of state "investor" and their local court system?
I'm aware that the broken window theory is mostly a fallacy, but this is on a much grander scale, which most assuredly imparts a visual impact on fresh eyes entering Springfield for the first time.
Stir in the additional adjacent property vacancies and accompanying vandalism, and we've got ourselves a recipe for a very unappealing area simmering away.
Here we are in July with nothing changed except fresh graffiti apparently related to someone's murder, not a good look on an already poor looking intersection.
Not only is this a bit of a surprise (I say bit, because when they painted over the mural, I had a tinge of suspicion), but it's shame; Don Smith has been my go to for paint for over a decade. I'm wondering if it's possible that it will be resold (for the 4th time) and I would still be able to access my purchase history, which, along with a very capable staff, was part of what kept me a loyal customer.
