A "business closed" sign is posted on the Don Smith Paint Co. building at 1724 S. MacArthur Blvd. The closure appears to be permanent, as the website and Facebook page for the business are no longer active. Google also lists the location in Bloomington as permanently closed. The Carlinville location had already closed in March of this year.

Owner Nate Tierney purchased the business in 2019 from Richard Scott, who had owned it since 1999. Tierney declined comment on the closure when contacted by SBJ. He previously told SBJ that he had worked in the paint industry for years, beginning with an internship at Sherwin Williams right out of college, prior to purchasing the business. He and his wife are both Springfield natives.

Prior owner Scott and his daughter and son-in-law, Zach and Nancy Sweet, purchased It's All About Wine in September 2018, shortly before the sale of Don Smith Paint to Tierney. Scott still owns the building on MacArthur that housed the business.
