Fans of Luminary: Kitchen & Provisions will soon be able to enjoy another offering from co-owners and chefs Jordan and Aurora Coffey.
We are tentatively naming the new project The Hedley House Social, said Aurora Coffey, describing it as a one-of-a-kind Parisian bistro focusing on lighter fare, French wines and cocktails, fresh-baked baguettes and sandwiches, seafood and classic French foods.
Luminary will continue to operate as it does now from the space at 3121 Hedley Road. However, a building permit has been filed with the city of Springfield to begin remodeling a vacant space at the opposite end of the strip center. We hope to have the build-out done by the fall for use as a catering and event space with the bistro and dine-in portion opening in the spring, said Coffey.
She explained that the additional space will be available for small groups to rent out and will also provide a place for people to enjoy a glass of wine or dine while waiting for seating at Luminary. In addition, Coffey said the couple plans to use the new space to offer monthly cooking classes.
The goal is not to take away from Luminary but to accentuate our desire to create fun, welcoming spaces to eat and socialize, Coffey said.
The Coffeys opened Luminary in February 2021 after closing their first restaurant, American Harvest Eatery, during the pandemic stay-at-home orders in 2020.
