The new hotel will open in the summer of 2025. This announcement comes just six months after the groundbreaking of the SCHEELS Sports Park, which is also located in Legacy Pointe.

A Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott will be constructed just south of and adjacent to the existing SpringHill Suites by Marriott, 3921 S. MacArthur Boulevard.
“The families that end up traveling to Springfield to play games at the new sports complex will be able to walk to the fields from our new hotel,” said Darin Dame, partner at Legacy Hospitality. “We’ve had great success with our other hotel at Legacy Pointe for the weekday business crowd who come to Springfield for their work. We believe the new hotel will serve those business customers as well during the week, and both hotels will serve traveling sports families on the weekends.”
The new Fairfield Inn and Suites will have 91 rooms with amenities for the business traveler and families. It will be managed by Ehrhardt Hospitality.
“With the new sports complex planned, we wanted to provide another hotel accommodation nearby,” added Dame. “It is our hope that our groundbreaking announcement is the first of many in Springfield, because we know that our travelers are looking for other amenities like restaurants, retail and entertainment options while they are staying with us.”
Construction on the SCHEELS Sports Complex has resumed after the winter break, with plans for the complex to be open and ready for games in 2025.
