MECO Engineering, a firm based out of Hannibal, Missouri, is opening an office in Springfield. Established in 1985, MECO provides civil, mechanical/electrical, and structural engineering and land surveying services to the public and private sectors. They also have a location in Pittsfield, Illinois in addition to offices in Jefferson City, St. Charles, Branson and Boonville, Missouri.
While there is currently only one employee staffing the local office, the intention is to eventually have five to six local employees. We have existing clients in the area, and its going to offer some better opportunities to support that work and develop potential business leads, said Max Middendorf, vice president and manager of Illinois operations.
MECO specializes in working with water districts and Middendorf said their primary client in the Springfield area is Curran Gardner Townships water district, in addition to the city of Carlinville and South Sangamon Water Commission. However, the company offers a wide variety of services. Were a full service civil engineering firm, so we offer a broad range of services, said Middendorf. Were also pre-qualified with IDOT and the Capital Development Board.
MECO Engineerings Springfield office is located at 60 Adloff Lane, near Capital City Shopping Center. The 1800 square foot building formerly housed NAIFA, an association for insurance providers.
