Losin' It with Sonya Jones opening Springfield location

Sonya Jones, a contestant on Season 16 of “The Biggest Loser,” is getting ready to help Springfield residents start their own health and fitness journeys with the opening of Losin’ It with Sonya Jones, located at 5240 S. Sixth St. Frontage Road. This will be the second location for the company, which currently operates out of Litchfield.

“I was born and raised in Litchfield, that’s home,” Jones said, although she lived and worked in Springfield after college. “I moved back to the Litchfield area in 2019; I’m an only child and my parents are aging.”

In October 2020, Jones opened Losin’ It with Sonya Jones and said her clients have lost over 5,000 pounds through the one-on-one coaching and meal replacement program.

“I want to pay forward so much of what I learned when I was on the show,” Jones said, noting that she is the only contestant from her season who has remained at a healthy weight without having gastric bypass surgery.

“I was overweight my whole life, and those of us who are obese, we wear our addiction for everyone to see,” she said. “I have a deep desire to help people conquer that battle.”

Jones has four other women who work with her in the business. “I have a tremendous group of coaches; all of them have been through my program and are maintaining their own weight loss. They see how it’s changed and impacted their own lives.”

Desi Davis, who formerly worked as the softball coach for Riverton High School, will serve as the lead coach for the new Springfield location. A soft opening is planned for June 24 with a ribbon cutting to be held on July 19 at 4 p.m.
