Henson Robinson Co. acquiring Reliable Mechanical Corporation

Henson Robinson Company has signed an agreement to acquire the assets of Reliable Mechanical Company, a commercial and residential HVAC and plumbing contractor based in Champaign, Illinois.

“This merger provides us a strong foundation to grow and expand our market presence in Champaign and surrounding areas beyond just our roofing trade and continue to scale up in this key market,” said Joe Kulek, president of Henson Robinson Company. “We look forward to maintaining and building upon the Reliable legacy in the markets they serve while also bringing in our employee-owned culture, pre-fabrication capabilities, and overall management infrastructure and support to the Reliable team.”

For more than 100 years, Reliable Mechanical Company has provided heating, air conditioning, plumbing, refrigeration, sheet metal, and a variety of other services to both commercial and residential customers. They are a fourth generation, family-owned business and one of the premier full-service HVAC and plumbing contractors in central Illinois.

Mike Meislahn, president of Reliable Mechanical Company stated, “After 38 years of operating under current ownership, it is time for Reliable to seek new opportunities for growth and endurance. Being acquired by Henson Robinson enables us to broaden our services through technological advancements in both commercial and residential service…  We are excited about the benefits Henson Robinson can offer our employees and the long-term stability it can provide for the Reliable legacy.”

Approximately 60 Reliable employees, including union members, will join Henson Robinson Company. The Reliable Mechanical operations will remain at the current location, 1411 Interstate Dr., Champaign. The name will also be retained, operating as Reliable Mechanical LLC, a division of Henson Robinson Company. The transaction is scheduled to close on Sept. 1.
