The Crafted Stag Supply is the brainchild of Grant and Jennifer Hammer, who purchased the property at 3455 Freedom Dr. in May 2023 and have extensively remodeled it. The building has been vacant since June 2018 when Donnie B’s Comedy Club relocated and Westside Pub & Grill closed after nearly three years. It previously housed Ned Kelly’s Steakhouse and later Albatross Bar and Grill.

Approximately 6,000 square feet of the building is now devoted to retail space featuring men's clothing and gifts while just under 1,400 square feet is a tavern area, plus an outdoor patio. The business received a zoning change to be allowed to sell alcohol, but Hammer said that will be a small part of the business model. “Someone might want to have a beer while they’re shopping, but we won’t sell food or really be a bar,” he told SBJ when plans were first announced.

In addition to bar refreshments, Hammer said, "We will also offer a number of artisanal Iron Stag coffees and espressos from barista John Droegkamp. He will be blending some really delicious drinks to fuel people’s days!"

Another feature is Uppercuts Barbershop, which will now operate out of space inside The Crafted Stag Supply, with owner Justin Moon offering haircuts and hot shaves. Moon, who has 22 years of barbering experience, previously had a barbershop on MacArthur Boulevard. The barbershop will be open Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

A ribbon cutting for The Crafted Stag Supply is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, at 10 a.m. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday through Saturday, closed Monday.
