Steve Gnuse has joined First Bankers Trust Company, N.A., a wholly-owned subsidiary of First Bankers Trustshares, Inc., as senior vice president of commercial banking, effective Sept. 18.
Gnuse has 40 years of experience in the banking industry and most recently was a senior vice president at Heartland Bank and Trust Company, formerly Town and Country Bank, where he worked for more than 18 years.
"Steve's addition is a significant milestone for us. Having worked with him previously, I am confident he will drive our commercial banking to new heights,” said Joel Oschwald, market president of First Bankers in Springfield. “Steve's deep roots and vast experience in the industry make him the ideal person to expand our position in the Springfield area."
Gnuse will operate from the Springfield branch at 2201 Wabash Ave.

Outside his professional endeavors, Gnuse is actively involved with the Boys & Girls Club of Central Illinois and holds a board position with Christian Horizons.
