BOS Asset Management has acquired L.A. Burton & Associates

BOS Asset Management, a newly created registered investment advisory firm, has acquired L.A. Burton & Associates following the retirement of owner Larry Burton.

“It was an acquisition of his book of business; he was retiring after 27 years,” said Brian Brewer, senior vice president and program manager for BOS Investment Services. Brewer also serves as the chief operating officer for BOS Asset Management, which received SEC approval in November 2020.

“We created BOS Asset management to take our capabilities of portfolio management to the next level,” said Brewer, noting that it allows for more custom platforms for institutional clients and larger asset management customers. “Combined, we now have $1.2 billion in assets between BOS Investment Services and BOS Asset Management,” he said.

Burton founded his own registered investment advisory firm after a career in banking, including serving as president of the former First National Bank in Springfield.
