Recon Techs Springfield opened its doors in 2012 under the name Luxury Detail. In July 2017, the company, which offers detailing on cars, boats, RVs and even aircrafts to customers throughout central Illinois, changed its name to Recon Techs. “Recon handles all automotive, marine and aircraft needs, from detailing services to repair, paint, window tinting and interior repairs,” said Derek Roberts, who owns the company along with his wife, Melissa. “We also offer customers a rental car free of charge with all major services.”
As Springfield’s only one-stop detail and conditioning shop, Recon Techs produces their own detail chemicals and ceramic coatings in order to cut out the middle man and give customers a better price point. “We are a family owned and run business and believe in bringing family values to our customers,” Roberts said. “We provide quality work, community involvement and a commitment to customer satisfaction.”
Recon Techs gives back to the community by offering charitable car wash events benefitting veterans and supporting the American Cancer Society, as just a couple examples. “We are big supporters of breast cancer research and have a breast cancer bike we travel the state with,” Roberts said.
