Established in July 2020, Better With Bubbli Boutique is a women’s clothing boutique curated for the girl-on-the-go. Owner Randi Pecka launched the company initially as an online boutique geared toward young, contemporary women. “I’d recently left my position at Illinois State University working as an assistant director of athletics communications,” she said. “This role required a lot of travel, and I was commuting from Chatham to Normal every day. I’d wanted to put roots down in Springfield after getting married and find a position closer to home. Unfortunately, COVID-19 happened, which meant little opportunities available. So I created one for myself.”
Pecka had always loved working in retail, specifically helping women get styled for an event or feel more confident in themselves. “I decided to take a little from savings and invest in inventory and started small online,” she said. “We practically sold out of our entire collection the launch night, and we continued to add on and grow from there, evolving to a brick-and-mortar store on the west side of Springfield.”
The name Better With Bubbli came from not only Pecka’s love of champagne but her belief in celebrating every one of life’s moments. Their motto is: “Life is better with a glass of champagne and a new outfit!”
“I wanted to build a store that people wanted to visit for fun but also when they needed something unique for a concert, vacation or their engagement photos,” she said. “Our team is so kind and warm and welcoming, and I hear all the time from our shoppers that we offer customer service they may not get at big box stores.”
