Primo Designs, a Springfield-based business providing branded wearables and promotional items, has acquired Star Silkscreen Designs, a similar company based in Decatur.
Star Silkscreen, founded in 1983 by Karen Ragee, will maintain operations at its Decatur facility with Ragee continuing to lead the location. Primo Designs, 2417 North Grand Ave. East, was founded in 1985 by Len Naumovich.
Naumovich said this marks the first step in Primo's strategic expansion under the newly formed Primo Group.
"This acquisition represents the first of multiple planned consolidations under the Primo Group umbrella," Naumovich said. "Our vision is to create opportunities for owners/operators to join a larger entity with a unified management team, enabling economies of scale in technology, production and purchasing."
In 2022, Gorham’s Specialty Advertising merged with Primo Designs and moved its operations into the North Grand location.
Primo Designs provides screen-printed and embroidered logo wear apparel, order fulfillment, promotional products and digital printing.
