The former Hooters restaurant in Springfield is getting ready to go up for auction.
Commercial real estate website Loopnet.com lists 3241 Horizon Drive as scheduled for auction Feb. 24-26, with a starting bid of $190,000 for the 4,262-square-foot building. The property is listed with broker Daniel Elliot of SRS Real Estate Partners, a Dallas-based commercial real estate firm that specializes in retail services.
According to Sangamon County tax records, the current property owner is NADG NNN HTRS IL LP, which purchased the parcel in December 2017 for $2.7 million.
The property has been vacant since June 2024, when Hooters abruptly closed 40 underperforming stores nationwide. The Atlanta-based restaurant chain still operates 420 restaurants in 42 states and 29 countries, according to the company's website.
