The Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corporation has launched the second phase of its strategy to bring new residents to Morgan and Scott counties. The campaign, featuring new “live, work and invest” videos, digital advertising and a relocation incentive on MakeMyMove.com, places a targeted focus on recruiting an increased workforce to local businesses in the Jacksonville region.
“We know the Jacksonville region is the right place to put down roots and grow a business for many reasons, including our centralized location, excellent quality of life and tremendous educational opportunities for people of all ages,” said Kristin Jamison, president of JREDC. “This creative mix of marketing and relocation incentives has already proven to attract more residents to our communities and aid area employers in finding the right employees they need to be successful.”
A listing and relocation incentive offer at MakeMyMove, valued at $9,000, is intended to provide additional encouragement to individuals interested in capitalizing on the region’s advantages. The incentive offer includes $5,000 cash, three months of fiber broadband service from area providers, numerous passes and gift certificates at area establishments, $300 in “Chamber Checks” redeemable at more than 80 participating Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce member businesses and more.
The second round of JREDC’s Talent Attraction Campaign began on Feb. 3. The initial launch was successful in bringing five professionals to the Jacksonville region. Selected from a pool of several hundred applications, these new residents to the area are helping fill positions in high-need industry fields. The organization’s second campaign will place added emphasis on candidates who fill open positions with local employers in the fields of health care, manufacturing, accounting, engineering, education and legal.
In addition, JREDC’s Talent Attraction Campaign includes a digital advertising campaign via Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn to recruit new workers and build awareness of Jacksonville regional employers, open positions and benefits. The program also includes videos that illustrate living, working and investing in the Jacksonville Region, which can be viewed on JREDC’s YouTube channel. Together, the posts and videos educate individuals on the area’s quality of life attributes from community amenities, Midwestern work ethic, culture and safety to cost-of-living and cost-of-doing-business advantages.
