B’s
Creative Studio is on the move for the second time
since the business launched in 2022.
“We have just continued to grow,” said owner Brandy Fletcher. “The first location was our trial run, and the second one gave us
our bigger classroom and boutique. But now we’re
needing more space.”
The business initially opened in
March 2022 in a space on South MacArthur Boulevard
next to Penny Lane. It grew quickly, and later that year relocated to 1305 Wabash
Ave.
Fletcher plans to have the new location at 1333 Wabash Ave., Suite B, open Nov. 30 to coincide with Small
Business Saturday, although she said work on the classroom space is
ongoing.
“We had the right place just fall
into our laps,” she said.
Fletcher is leasing the former Animal Emergency Clinic space as well as the
adjoining suite, which previously housed an insurance agency.
“We’ve torn walls down so the space is connected now,” she said. “We’ll have offices and about 13
classrooms and boutique rooms, plus an open art room
where people can come in any time to do a craft.”
Fletcher said that previously,
birthday parties and classes took precedence over having available space for
walk-in customers, but the new space is large enough to accommodate everything. She also said that some of the vendors will be able to have their own rooms.
“Mary, who is one of our stained
glass teachers and an artist, will have her
own room. And we’ll have a terrarium room that will always be set up and ready for classes,” Fletcher said. “There’s
space for painting, crushed glass, crochet, sewing, knitting – we’ve grown into a lot of different
activities.”
While the current location is leased until February, Fletcher said she decided not to hold off on moving.
“We had so many private events
booked for December, we knew we needed to get over (to the new space),” she said.
An open house is planned for 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14.
