Shayna Gibbons Keeley Boutique opening Nov. 1

Shayna Gibbons Keeley Boutique is opening Nov. 1 on Springfield's west side, and the owner said she plans to offer "affordable, everyday fashion with a trendy twist."

Keeley, a Springfield native, said she has been in retail management for more than 15 years. She most recently worked as a district manager for Chico's FAS, Inc., the parent company for Chico's, White House Black Market and Soma. 

"I decided it was time to open my own business," Keeley said. "One of the things I'm wanting to bring to Springfield is that personal service that you really don't get anymore."

Keeley is leasing space at 3278 W. Iles Ave., which most recently housed Apricot Lane Boutique. "I wanted to go with something that was still in good shape, and this already had a fitting room," she said, noting that other than fixtures and cosmetics, no major renovations were required.

Keeley said she enjoys "educating women on fit and style for their body - basically body contouring using clothing." She noted that she's volunteered with several nonprofits, such as Hope, Children's Miracle Network and Concordia Lutheran, to help with fashion shows. "I've worked with a lot of different organizations doing personalized styling," Keeley said.

 She also said her boutique will include petite and plus-size options. "I do think that's really important, especially in this market," Keeley said.

A grand opening is planned from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, with a ribbon cutting taking place at noon. Keeley is partnering with other area businesses, including Del's Popcorn Shop, China Towne and Peace, Love and Sweat for samplings and giveaways.

Regular hours of operation will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, then 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
