Jasmine Dickerson will become
the Young Professionals Program Manager for the Greater Springfield Chamber of
Commerce, effective Jan. 1, a newly created position intended to expand the
Chamber’s outreach to young professionals.

The Chamber launched RISE Springfield in February 2023 as a way to foster professional development,
resources and networking opportunities for emerging leaders.

“RISE had a great first year and
they did some amazing things, mainly with volunteers,” said Mike Murphy, president
and CEO of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce. “It’s doing great, but
we’re treating it as a hobby, and we need to treat it as a job. I’m excited
that our board realizes the importance of it.”

Dickerson joined the Chamber in
March 2023 as its administrative assistant and will now be transitioning to a
new role. “For the foreseeable future, all of her efforts will be toward RISE,
but there are other things involving young professionals that might come under
her responsibilities,” Murphy said. “We’re hoping to grow it more.”
