Paula Rauschkolb, D.O., has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology. In addition, as director of neuro-oncology, she will collaborate with the Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU in both clinical and research capacities. She also is a member of SIU HealthCare, the medical schools group practice.
Rauschkolb previously served as the medical director of neuro-oncology at Intermountain Medical Center Neurosciences Institute in Murray, Utah (2012-14). She completed postdoctoral training in neuro-oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York (2012), neurology and internal medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H. (2011, 2008).
Rauschkolb earned her medical degree at Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Ariz. (2007) and a bachelors degree summa cum laude in life sciences, cell biology/physiology at Arizona State University in Phoenix (2002).
Rauschkolb is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. She has co-authored more than 15 articles, abstracts and book chapters on neurological conditions and served as principal investigator on several research projects.
She and her husband, Matt, live in Springfield.
