Long John Silver’s held a ribbon cutting April 17 for its new location at 3112 S. Dirksen Parkway in Springfield.
The newly constructed restaurant with a modern design was built between Hilton Garden Inn and Shangri-La Dispensary, near LJS’s previous location in the Capital City Shopping Center. A $1 million building permit was filed in November.
“It’s been great to see this space come to life, and we’re excited to welcome the Springfield community to our new restaurant,” said Kevin Kupniewski, executive vice president of OpCo Operations. “This move has given us the opportunity to elevate the guest experience while continuing to provide the fan favorite menu items and great service our guests expect from Long John Silver’s.”
The new location introduces upgrades aimed at enhancing speed, convenience and comfort, including digital menu boards and self-order kiosks. It will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Springfield has another LJS restaurant at 1030 Clocktower Drive. The brand has had a presence in the capital city since 1977, not long after the company launched in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1969. According to its website, Long John Silver’s has 473 locations nationwide, including 17 in Illinois.
