Arlington’s Catering and Historic Venue is changing hands, but the new owners say they plan to keep a good thing going.

“We’re pretty good friends with Ebben (Moore), so he approached us first about wanting to leave the area,” said Melissa Reilly, who co-owns Cured Catering with her husband, Brian Reilly. “He’s got such a good reputation and a great vibe there,” she said, noting that they told Moore they would definitely be interested when the time came for him to sell.

Moore originally opened Arlington’s, 210 Broadway, in 2014 as a restaurant. After the COVID-19 pandemic forced Arlington’s to temporarily close in 2020, Moore announced he would transition to focusing on catering and events.

Cured Catering, which launched in 2017, has already expended several times since then. Most recently, the Reillys held a groundbreaking in May for a 10,000-square-foot building in Dawson that will served as the headquarters for Cured Catering’s operation. The couple also restored a former church in Buffalo and converted it to The Bullard Country Chapel, which now hosts events, weddings and live music.

Brian and Melissa Reilly, along with their seven children, took part in a May 22 groundbreaking ceremony for a new 10,000-square-foot headquarters in Dawson.

“We’ve always dreamed of helping enrich the Springfield downtown area and helping make it a vibrant destination,” Brian Reilly said.  “Arlington’s solid reputation – and Moore’s wish to move west with his longtime companion – coincided with our ability to step in for a seamless transition.”

Melissa Reilly said she will be “stepping in a little bit more” to serve as the lead on this project but doesn’t envision any significant changes. “Everything is going to stay the same; we’re going to make sure that all of the clients who are already on the books know they’re going to be taken care of.”
