The Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln has hired Tobias Lewis as its grants and scholarships manager.
In this role, Lewis will oversee the administration and coordination of the Community Foundation’s competitive grantmaking and scholarship programs, including supporting review committees and serving as the primary point of contact for nonprofits, scholarship applicants and community partners.
“I’ve always wanted to do work that allows me to connect with and serve others, and I can’t think of a better place to do that than the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln,” Lewis said. “With my work going forward, I want to embody the Foundation’s mission of helping connect people who care with causes that matter.”
Lewis joins the Community Foundation after serving as a constituent services intern in U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth’s Springfield office. He is a recent graduate from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he earned a bachelor of arts in economics and was actively involved in student leadership, serving as the president of mentoring organization 100 STRONG and as an economic ambassador through his department.
In the future, Lewis hopes to further his education by pursuing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) with a focus on public or nonprofit management. He is originally from Woodridge, Illinois, and a graduate of Downers Grove South High School.
