Bailey Sullivan has been teaching Pilates classes for years, and now she is preparing to open her own studio in The Gables.
Pulse Pilates will occupy the suite at 2924 Plaza Drive that was most recently home to Again & Again boutique and, prior to that, Jos. A. Bank. Sullivan said that since the space was previously used for retail, quite a bit of renovation work is needed.
Sullivan is a Springfield native, although she moved to Utah at the age of 12.
“I started teaching Pilates at the University of Utah, then I moved to West Hollywood and taught there and in Los Angeles,” Sullivan said. “I’ve been teaching for nine years now.”

Sullivan moved back to Springfield during the pandemic and has taught at area studios for the past five years. She said Pulse Pilates will offer group classes and private sessions.
“We’ll have a specific room for reformer classes and a separate room for mat classes, plus a space for private sessions,” Sullivan said. “Right now, it will just be me, but eventually I’ll be taking on some awesome instructors.”
Sullivan said she hopes to open for private sessions in early December, followed by beginning group classes in January.
The Gables is hosting its annual Light Up The Gables event on Black Friday, Nov. 28. Sullivan said she will be onsite from 3-8 p.m.
“I’ll be in front of my space to give people information and answer questions,” she said. “I can get people signed up for private sessions, and I’ll have gift cards available.”

Bailey is a fantastic Pilates instructor. I took private lessons with her for several years, before moving out of Springfield. When my wife and I return to town, we will no doubt visit her studio.
Best of luck Bailey!
