For Brittney Hinkle-Dura, being called “beige” is a compliment.
“They call me ‘beige Brittney;’ I like that warm tone and feel,” she said.
Now she is launching her own business, Beige Bee Boutique, to offer neutral, veritable wardrobe staples to other women.
The boutique will be located at 3255 Ginger Creek Dr. in the last available space in a newly built strip center that includes Potter Drug and Vine & Rind. Happy Hour Pilates recently announced plans to open a second studio in the center.

“I’ve spent the last 15 years in Petersburg and recently moved to the west side of Springfield after the kids left for college and were out of the house,” Hinkle-Dura said of her decision to locate her business on the west side of town.
“I spent 11 years in the military and worked out at Camp Lincoln for several years,” Hinkle-Dura said. “I always wore a uniform, and it made me who I am today in terms of structure and the style and fashion I gravitate toward.”
Hinkle-Dura said she also worked as a personal trainer for a long time. “Helping women build confidence is something I’ve always had a passion for,” she said.
Hinkle-Dura said her background, combined with a love of travel, “all came together” when she decided to start a retail business.
“My husband and I love to travel, so I can help women build their suitcase with some fun pieces. I enjoy building a wardrobe around very versatile pieces that travel well,” she said.
Hinkle-Dura said she plans to hire five staff members and hopes to have the boutique open by the end of March.
Looking forward to see a boutique designed for women on the go as well as a place where women who know what they want-or need, feel confident in going to that’s almost assured they’ll find what they want. Love the name!
