Buzz Bomb Brewing Co., the downtown brewery and taproom that closed at the beginning of the year, has put both its building and its brewing equipment and décor up for sale.
The brewery’s former home at 406 E. Adams St. went on the market earlier this week, with a listing price of $260,000. Buzz Bomb opened in the two-story, 3,740-square-foot building in 2018, and the business closed as of Jan. 1.
“It’s obviously a great downtown location in the Adams Street corridor, which is recognized as a vibrant section of downtown,” said Blake Pryor, the listing agent for the property with Coldwell Banker Commercial Devonshire Realty. Pryor said the current owners — Josh Flanders, Benjie Gines and Bill Larson — did a lot of the “heavy lifting” of renovating the property. “So, it’s primed and ready for the next occupant with very little maintenance required.”
In addition, bidding is now open in an online auction for Buzz Bomb’s brewing equipment and other pieces from the taproom. Items include everything from stout tanks and brew kettles to restaurant-style tables and chairs.
“We want these pieces of our journey to continue sparking craft beer passion in new spaces,” the owners said in the auction listing.

The online auction, operated by Aumann Auctions, will end at 6 p.m. on May 26. The inspection date when prospective buyers can check out the items up for bid is May 25 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the former Buzz Bomb location on East Adams.
Buzz Bomb was a downtown anchor and destination for events such as live music performances, karaoke and trivia nights. Flanders previously told Springfield Business Journal that the combined pressures from the 2020 pandemic, the fire on Adams Street in 2024, and the slowing economy prompted the partners’ decision to close the business. He told the SBJ in December that they would “most likely” soon put the building up for sale.
