America Ambulance is preparing to relocate its EMT and paramedic crews to a new, larger location. President Susan Zappa said the new building at 755 Apple Orchard Road in Park South is a lot bigger and more spacious for our crews and sleeping quarters. It also has a better overall layout, she said.
In comparison, she said the current facility at Fifth and Cedar streets is an old building, and theres not much room for us.
The business office will remain at 2711 W. Washington St.
America Ambulance purchased the former Tom Lange distribution center in July 2021, and Zappa said the most significant alteration needed was the addition of a garage. The main building is 8,600 square feet, plus the newly constructed garage offers 5,000 square feet of space for vehicles and an additional 1,200 square feet of storage. She said the new facility has enough space for a training center and will give the company the ability to offer classes.
We have a few more things to button up and some city inspections, but were hoping to be in sometime in March, Zappa said. Were getting excited.
