The “Makers on the Move” statewide bus tour kicked off Oct. 6 at Ace Sign Co. in Springfield, a partnership between the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association and the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center to celebrate Manufacturing Month throughout the month of October.

In its fourth year, the tour will visit manufacturing facilities, educational institutions and community centers across Illinois to highlight the diverse, rewarding careers in manufacturing and offer an up-close look at today’s high-tech modern manufacturing.

Mike Murphy, president and CEO of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, speaks at the Oct. 6 kickoff.

The “Makers on the Move” bus tour features a fully wrapped 56-foot bus that will travel to communities throughout the state, making roughly 30 stops along the way. The bus was wrapped by Ace Sign Co., featuring a design created by a student at the Capital Area Career Center.

More information about the tour is available at https://makersonthemove.org.
