Join Levi Ray & Shoup, Inc., Lincoln Land Community College, and elected officials for an open house event and ribbon cutting celebrating the new Levi, Ray & Shoup Aviation Center at LLCC.
The event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 25, with an open house from 4-5 p.m., and a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m., at Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, located at 815 S. Airport Dr., in Springfield.
Featured speakers at the ribbon cutting will be Dr. Charlotte Warren, president of LLCC; Dennis Shackelford, chair of the LLCC Board of Trustees; Frank Vala, chair of the Springfield Airport Authority; Dick Levi, CEO of Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc; and James Campbell, vice president and general manager of Standard Aero. Elected officials with plans to attend the event include Governor Bruce Rauner, State Representative Tim Butler, Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder and Sangamon County Board Vice Chair Catie Sheehan.
The aviation center expansion includes new classrooms, a computer lab, a technical library, lobby and offices, made possible thanks to an $850,000 donation by Dick Levi of Levi, Ray & Shoup.
