Navigating the complexities of the City of Springfields zoning can be daunting, particularly for small businesses and start up entrepreneurs. To break down any potential barriers, the City of Springfield has launched an online zoning map a tool designed to help businesses, developers and realtors identify the current zoning classifications for particular locations or properties. This resource can be found on the City of Springfields website at www.springfield.il.us/ZoningMap.
The main goal of the system is to give businesses an easy-to-use tool for research on their own. Users can access zoning information by specific address or by areas of the city. Different map views are also options in the system. Included with the zoning information is the parcel number and available documents, along with the ability to email questions directly to the citys zoning administrator.
This online zoning map was a collaborative effort within the City of Springfield departments, including the Office of Public Works Building & Zoning Division, the Office of Planning and Economic Development and the Information Systems Division. This tool is for information purposes and what is depicted online is subject to change. It is recommended that users contact the proper city departments to insure no modifications have been made to the zoning requirements prior to making any final business decisions.
