The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, with presenting sponsor Brown, Hay &
Stephens LLP, is offering a HR Essentials for Business Leaders Seminar on Thursday, Feb. 5. The event will take place from 7:30-10:30 a.m. at BRANDT, 2935 S. Koke Mill Road.
“Many businesses don’t have a dedicated HR department, but they still face complex employment issues every day. This seminar is designed to give business owners and managers the tools, clarity and confidence they need to handle HR matters the right way,” said Mike Murphy, president and CEO.
The seminar will include roundtable discussions dedicated to common challenges faced by small and mid-sized businesses, including navigating employee pay and benefits, hiring in the AI Era, and handling difficult situations. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in live panel discussion where HR professionals and legal representatives will answer questions posted by attendees. Registrants are asked to pose questions in advance.
A hot breakfast will be provided courtesy of Nelson’s Catering. Other sponsors are American Central Insurance Services, Inc. and the Central IL Chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management.
The event is open to both members and non-members and registration is required. The cost for members is $79 before Jan. 15 or $95 after that. Non-members pay $110.
