Land of Lincoln Legal Aid has relocated its Springfield office to downtown. While Land of Lincoln has long served the community, this new space establishes a lasting home for the organization’s Northern Regional Office, which provides civil legal services to residents in Cass, Christian, Logan, Mason, Menard, Morgan, Sangamon, Scott and Shelby Counties.
Land of Lincoln’s office was previously located in the Illinois Baptist State Association building at 3085 Stevenson Drive. In 2024, the parent organization purchased the property at 1010 S. Second St. for $325,000, according to Sangamon County tax records. The 8,216-square-foot building most recently housed the Illinois State Dental Society. “Land of Lincoln has had a presence in Springfield for decades, but this new office gives our Northern Regional Office a permanent home,” said Clarissa Gaff, executive director of Land of Lincoln Legal Aid. “It reflects our long-term commitment to the region and ensures that we can continue to serve our neighbors across these nine counties with stability and strength.”
Each year, Land of Lincoln provides legal help to more than 12,000 people across its 65-county service area. The Northern Regional Office plays a critical role in that work by helping clients in central Illinois with urgent legal issues including housing, family law, domestic violence, consumer protection and access to public benefits.
Land of Lincoln will host an open house on Thursday, Sept. 11, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. This event will include tours of the new space, light refreshments and an opportunity to meet with staff and leadership.
