Mike Sebring and Mike White started M&M Pools and Spas in 1981. Casey and Jennifer Finley bought the business from them in 2006.
“I was working heavy highway construction in Bloomington and needed to get closer to home when our first child was born,” Casey said. “Jennifer has worked at Springfield Clinic in IT the entire time we’ve owned M&M Pools and Spas.”
Casey believes the company’s No. 1 standout is the longevity of the employees, with a majority of them having been with the company for more than 20 years.
“All of our employees wear multiple hats, allowing me to work and help out where needed,” Casey said. “The pool business is intense from April to November.”
M&M Pools and Spas builds custom, in-ground pools while also opening, closing and testing them on a regular basis.
“They oftentimes end up servicing what they build on a weekly basis as soon as the project is finished,” Casey said.
On-site repairs as well as liner changes and spa deliveries are also a part of M&M’s services. The Finleys take a lot of pride in honesty and timeliness, and appreciate that people enjoy their pools and spas. Therefore, their philosophy is if you do what you say you’re going to do and do it when you say you’re going to do it, then you have provided a pleasant experience on both sides of the equation.
