Sikich LLP is relocating its Springfield office, but the firm isn’t moving far. The company, which provides accounting, audit, tax, consulting and technology services, has been located at 3201 W. White Oaks Drive for the past 13 years. As of July 31, Sikich will be operating out of 3051 Hollis Drive, which is also home to administrative offices for HSHS Medical Group.
“We are one of the first outside companies coming in to utilize the space,” said Rachael Hawley, a marketing specialist with Sikich. She said the firm will occupy approximately half of the third floor.
At just over 13,000 square feet, the new space will actually be smaller than the current office on West White Oaks Drive. “We are relocating because of the shift with COVID and the new reality of working from home; we’ve adapted to that fairly easily,” said Hawley.
She noted that employees are able to choose between working remotely, working in the office, or some combination of the two. “We have what’s called ‘free address,’ our staff can go online and reserve a space and come into the office on those days. During tax season, we see more of an uptick in people being there, although we have some employees that have opted in to be there 100%,” Hawley said.
Not having all staff working out of the office all the time means that a smaller space will serve the firm’s needs, and Hawley said it was also an opportunity to move into a newer office with a more efficient layout.
“Our old space was broken up into different parts throughout the building. In the new space, everyone will be in the same area. It’s a better space to serve our clients,” she said.
