Pro Com Services of Illinois, a Springfield-based debt collection company, has been acquired by CACi of St. Ann, Missouri.
“We do still have a local workforce; however, the local office (on Constitution Drive) has closed,” said Connie Matrisch, the former Pro Com owner who is now vice president of client relations for CACi. “There were 12 Springfield employees who joined the CACi staff when we went over, but everybody is in a work-from-home environment.”
Matrisch joined what was initially known as Credit Bureau of
Springfield in 1983. She purchased the company in 2004 and owned it until the
sale to CACi earlier this year. Roger Weiss serves as the president of CACi,
which was established in 1967.
“I’m not the owner anymore, so that allows me to continue to
focus on servicing clients and meeting with them,” Matrisch said. “I’m still
that client-facing person, I just don’t have all of the stress that goes along
with owning your own business.”
Matrisch said the sale was a logical transition due to the
similar philosophies of the two companies.
“One of the things that has always been important to (Pro
Com), and is a philosophy of CACi as well, is the importance providing quality
service and results to our clients. That speaks wholeheartedly to the mission,
vision and value of ProCom and has an impact on our clients’ reputation in the
community,” she said. “Maintaining that going forward was very important to us.”
