Nicholas Koch has joined Troxell as an insurance consultant.

“I know Steve Hewell through the United Way (board of directors), and he had talked to me about it casually,” Koch said. “Then Jake Rourke introduced me to a lot of people here to have those conversations.”

Koch most recently spent five years working for TechGuard Security, an O’Fallon-based company that provides cybersecurity services for businesses and government.

“I was on the commercial side, doing business-to-business… a lot of the services we offered were geared toward cybersecurity insurance, so I’m familiar with that space,” Koch said.

In his new role, Koch said he can still work with businesses “to help them better understand their cyber policies” but also offers commercial insurance as well as property, home and auto coverage.

“I’m here to help people and support the community however I can,” said Koch.

He is the chair-elect for RISE Springfield, a board member for the United Way of Central Illinois and Local First Springfield and volunteers for numerous other community organizations. Koch was named to Springfield Business Journal’s 2025 class of Forty Under 40.

Koch, a Springfield native, has a bachelor’s degree from University of Mississippi. He and his wife, Dr. Allison Long, reside in Chatham.
