Nesty's Burger Joint opened a second location in Rochester in 2024.

In a statement posted on the business' Facebook page Jan. 2, owners Nestor and Megan Lopez wrote: "During this amazing year as part of the fantastic community of Rochester, we have taken every step in our journey with purpose, never missing an opportunity to learn more about the Nesty's franchise and what makes us who we are. ... we have decided the best way to serve this community is not by trying to duplicate our Taylorville location, but by giving the community an experience that is as unique as the town itself."

The original Nesty's Burger Joint opened in Taylorville in November 2020 and has become known for its burgers, wings and boozy milkshakes. The Rochester location opened at 312 Sattley St. following the closure of Public House 29 in July 2023.
Now the restaurant will reopen in a few weeks as Los Chimis Mexican Bar and Grill, although it will remain under the same ownership.

"We look forward to bringing a new and unique experience to this town we've come to know and love," the owners' statement concluded.
