Harvest Kitchen + Bar has opened at 4241 Conestoga Drive.

A mother-daughter team has launched Harvest Kitchen + Bar, serving American classics with a twist, at 4241 Conestoga Drive.

Odette Yobal, who co-owns the new venture with her mother, Vivian Dominguez, described it to SBJ as “an elevated aesthetic but still affordable and approachable for everybody.”

The current menu includes breakfast staples such as pancakes, French toast and build your own omelets, but it also features a Spanish tortilla with eggs, roasted potatoes and onions and topped with chorizo; a frittata Italian-style omelet with spinach, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes topped with mozzarella and parmesan; and croffles, a waffle croissant topped with a mix of cream cheese, powdered sugar and berries. Heartier options such as steak and eggs, biscuits and gravy and breakfast horseshoes are also available.

A soft opening was held Feb. 10, and Yobal said an expanded menu that will include lunch and dinner items is still being finalized.

"We wanted our customers to give us opinions and try the menu items," she said. "We will have a new menu with lunch and dinner options, but that's still in the works."

Harvest Kitchen is currently open from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. every day, but Yobal said by the end of next month the restaurant will stay open until 9 p.m.  She said she hopes to hold a grand opening in a few weeks.

Harvest Kitchen is in the space that most recently housed Sweet Basil Café, which closed suddenly in August following a commercial eviction case that resulted in an order to vacate. Yobal's parents own a nearby Mexican restaurant, and she said she and her mother saw an opportunity to try something with a different focus.

"We're really excited to share this project, and we would appreciate everyone coming out to support this local business," Yobal said.
