Less than a year after initially launching, Hale Construction has moved into a larger office space and now has plans to expand into the Metro East as well.

“I had been working for another construction company, and
last May we had that big storm in Chatham,” said owner Seth Hale. “I decided to run with it and go out on my own. All the work I did initially was referral-based."

Hale Construction is a family business, with Seth Hale’s younger brother, Mason Hale, handling the day-to-day operations and financials, while his cousin, Caidin Stash, is the marketing coordinator.

Earlier this month, the eight-person team moved into a larger office space 1154 N. Bradfordton Road, which also has a family connection. Seth’s mother, Alinda Hale, owned Eye Candy Boutique before merging with another online boutique as of March 15.

“When she told me she was merging with another company, she asked if we would be interested in taking over her lease, and it worked out well for us,” Seth Hale said. “It helps to have everyone in the same place every day instead of working from home.”

Hale Construction specializes in roofing, gutters and siding, particularly working with insurance companies to repair storm damage. Seth Hale said that his brother, who is a graduate of McKendree University in Lebanon, is in the process of moving back to the Metro East area and the service territory will expand accordingly.

“Previously, we haven’t gone further south than Auburn, but now that we’re expanding it will allow us to do anything from here all the way south to the St. Louis area,” Seth Hale said.
