Flooring of Springfield has expanded its operations and consolidated the business into one location at 510 Bruns Lane.
“We needed a bigger location; we’re busier than we’ve ever been,” said owner Jagdish Singh. The flooring business, which began in 2008, initially had its retail showroom at 2205 Wabash Ave. and a warehouse at Jefferson Street and Veterans Parkway.
“It was getting tougher and tougher running back and forth with two different locations,” Singh said. “But finding a location that would accommodate what we needed was not easy. We had been looking on and off for a while.”
In 2023, Noonan True Value closed its Bruns Lane location as part of a shift away from retail sales to focus on the rental side of its business. Flooring of Springfield has now moved into the building following an extensive makeover.
“The building was dated, and we needed something that was wide open space,” Singh said. “We did a lot of work and added all new fixtures and sample displays.”
Flooring of Springfield has already opened at its new location, although Singh said the renovation work continues. “We keep adding on more and more,” he said.
The business has also hired several new staff members as part of the expansion.
“We have a really good team,” Singh said. “We don’t have quotas. We want to make sales just like everybody else, but we want to do it the right way.
“The goal is to do the right thing for our customers all the time, as best we can. That philosophy has worked really well for us.”
A ribbon cutting is planned for 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21.
