Alliance Community Bank is expanding its Springfield presence with a new location in the works on the far west side.
“We feel like we have some name recognition in the Springfield market already,” said John Leinberger, president and CEO of Alliance Community Bank. He noted that the bank, which is headquartered in Petersburg, has had a location on Andrew Road in Springfield since 1994.
In November 2018, Athens State Bank and National Bank of Petersburg merged to form Alliance Community Bank. ACB has two locations in Petersburg, plus branches in Athens, Mason City and Springfield.
The second Springfield location will be at 4427 Yucan Dr., occupying the remaining 3,000 square feet of a strip center just east of Bella Milano. The existing tenant, European Wax Center, opened in November.
Leinberger said the branch is tentatively scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2024. “We’re in the design phase, and then we have to go through permitting and construction. We’re still concerned about supply chain issues, and bank equipment has a long lead time,” he said.
“We’ve done more lending in this market over the last year,” Leinberger said, “and those customers would love for us to have a deposit branch closer to where they are.” He said the new branch will help service those new customers, plus provide an added convenience for existing clientele who live in Menard County but “would like to be able to stop by the bank when they’re working or shopping in Springfield.”
