The Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance (SSGA) is launching a new community-focused workshop series designed to empower entrepreneurs, small business owners and community members with the tools, resources and connections to help them succeed.
“Supporting local entrepreneurs and small businesses is an important part of economic development, and we’re committed to creating opportunities that uplift and empower our entire community,” said Ryan McCrady, president and CEO of SSGA. “Whether you are just starting out or looking to take your business to the next level, these sessions will give business owners and community members access to resources, knowledge and networks that can help them start, grow and thrive right here in Springfield.”
Offered in partnership with The Springfield Project at CAP 1908, the free monthly workshops will be held at CAP 1908 and feature expert-led presentations, practical insights and networking opportunities. While the series is designed to support minority businesses and entrepreneurs, all community members are welcome to attend and learn more about how SSGA is working to foster economic growth in Springfield and Sangamon County.
“This series is about more than business, it’s about access,” said Dominic Watson, SSGA board member and president of The Springfield Project at CAP 1908. “When people come together to share knowledge, support one another, and build relationships, the entire community grows stronger. Hosting these workshops at CAP 1908 helps us continue to positively impact and expand the opportunities for economic growth and development in our community by creating a space where everyone feels welcome to learn and succeed.”
All workshops will take place from 4-6 p.m., with presentations beginning promptly at 4 p.m. followed by Q&A sessions and networking. CAP 1908 is located at 1100 South Grand Ave. in Springfield.
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. To learn more and register for the workshops, visit: https://www.thriveinspi.org/Event/30/Business-and-Community-Program-Series/event-details/.
