St. John’s College faculty member Julie Varns is a PhD student and was recently named a Jonas Scholar. Founded in 2006, the Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence’s mission is to improve health care through nursing and it makes grants that advance scholarship, leadership and innovation fostering new partnerships across the philanthropic, business, policy and education sectors.
