Tim Whitehead has been named general manager of the Crowne Plaza Springfield and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Springfield.
Driftwood Hospitality Management, a third-party hotel management firm and affiliate of Driftwood Capital, made the announcement as part of a series of new general manager and corporate appointments across its national portfolio, with leadership moves spanning properties in Florida and Arizona.
Brining decades of his experience to his new role, Whitehead grew up in hotels and had his official start in management at Servico. Thereafter, he built his food and beverage expertise with Winegardner & Hammons, overseeing culinary quality and guest satisfaction across an array of properties. Later on, he earned Marriott’s Courtyard General Manager of the Year honor. He now oversees both Springfield hotels.
Crowne Plaza Springfield – Convention Center is a 288-room full-service hotel at 3000 S. Dirksen Parkway. The neighboring 140-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites Springfield is located at 3050 South Dirksen Parkway.
