Globe Life Liberty National Division has opened an office in Springfield.
The company, which provides life and supplemental health insurance, is based in Texas. The business traces its roots back to 1900 and was previously knowns as Liberty National Life Insurance.
“I was tasked with helping open an office in Springfield,” said Dolan Barnes, general supervising agent. Barnes is a Girard native who now lives in Collinsville. “It’s my home area, and it’s an area that was underrepresented.”
Barnes also oversees offices in St. Peters and Kansas City, Missouri.
Hunter Lurkins will serve as the agency director for the Springfield office, located in suite 711 of the Myers Building, 1 W. Old State Capitol Plaza.
Barnes said the DiFilippo Agencies, as the three offices are known, currently have eight agents, with two more scheduled to start in the next few weeks.
A ribbon cutting for the Springfield office is planned for noon on Monday, May 12.
