PhysioTherapy Professionals is returning to downtown Springfield with a new location at 306 E. Adams St.
The physical therapy business is headquartered at 2201 W. White Oaks Dr., a space it shares with Pure Synergy Massage, Ahh Yoga and Body Symmetry. PhysioTherapy Professionals initially opened a downtown location in 2020 and had an office in the Kerasotes Building for nearly three years.
Leah Boente said that after hiring a few more therapists, she and co-owner Kirsten Transue decided to reestablish a downtown presence.
"The people who work downtown can walk to us, and the people from Rochester and Riverton like not having to come all the way to the west side," Boente said.
The new location in the 300 block of East Adams is adjacent to Ad Astra Wine & Tapas Bar and near other new businesses such as The Keep Store and Whimsy Tea, which she said is a plus.
"The parking has been great so far, and Resource One is right across the street and has worked with us on employee parking," Boente said.
She said she works from the downtown location two days a week, along with a physical therapy assistant and office manager. The new space also includes a private room, which allows her to offer pelvic floor therapy for female clients.
"Everybody has been so welcoming and excited to have us back," Boente said."
A ribbon cutting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, with the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Springfield, Inc.
