Chelana Snell describes her husband, Doug, as “an adventurous kind of guy” and says it was his idea to purchase a building in downtown Springfield as an investment property. The couple closed on the building at 221 S. Sixth St. at the end of last year and have now moved their commercial cleaning business, Office Pride of Springfield, into a portion of the lower level space.

“We’ve been in business for seven years working from home, so now we’re really just getting it all out of our home and separating the business,” explained Chelana Snell. The commercial space on the lower level was previously occupied by Milk and Honey Fresh Market and then divided into separate spaces to accommodate two different businesses, Pittman’s Popcorn Shop and Corrine’s Closet. Office Pride is occupying the portion most recently utilized by Pittman’s, which closed its downtown location at the end of October.

“We’re up and running, just don’t have the signage up yet,” said Snell. She said the business has focused on quality over quantity. “We’re pretty small, but we’re growing.”
