The Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois will soon have a space to host its own events. Bob Myers, president of ABDI, said the association has been located at 100 W. Cook St. in Springfield since 1987, but has held board meetings and special events off-site, due to lack of space.
“In the past, we’ve always relied on other facilities,” explained Myers. “Now we’re extending out our south wall about 40 feet. We’re creating a hospitality room that will allow us to have board meetings and certain events.”
Steckel Parker Architects and Michael von Behren Builder are serving as the architect and general contractor on the project, which is valued at just over half a million dollars.
Myers said there has already been one delay due to the discovering of an existing gas line, but he hopes the project is still on track to be completed by Dec. 1.
